Is Bay of Plenty Energy Energy only offering electricity services?

Bay of Plenty Energy supplies both gas and electricity. By receiving all of your energy from Bay of Plenty Energy you can save time and hassle with only one regular meter reader visit, one account to pay each month and only one number to call with any questions. It also means that you get a high level of local, personal service that is only available from Bay of Plenty Energy, based in the heart of the Bay of Plenty.

How does the Low Use Plan work?

It's designed for people who are low users or want the ability to control their power bill. We've reduced the fixed daily charge, and the charge for each unit of electricity is slightly higher. Because your fixed daily charge is lower, if you are a low electricity user you'll pay less overall.

How do I know if this is the right plan for me?

It depends on how much electricity you use. Call to speak with our Customer Care Team on 0800 500 710 and find out which plan would suit your needs.

Can I switch between plans?

Existing customers can switch between our Standard Plan and the Low Use Plan at any time if this plan is the most suitable for your energy usage. Our Customer Care Team will be able to advise you whether the Low Use Plan can save you money. The new pricing will take effect for your next bill.

How do I know how many units I use in a year?

Your accounts provide a breakdown of the amount of energy used in the billed period - measured in kilowatt hours (kWh) or units. By referring to old accounts and adding these up you can calculate your annual usage.

Alternatively you could use the usage on your last account and multiply the units by 12 to provide a rough estimate of your annual usage.

If I transfer to the Low Use Plan, when does it take effect?

Once we confirm your transfer, your new pricing will take effect from your next account.
